Chronological Age Calculator
without the guesswork.
Chronological Age Speech Therapy — Calculate exact chronological age and keep AAP corrected age as a separate, prematurity-specific developmental reference. Uses a focused calculator with visible assumptions. Sensitive inputs stay in your browser.
Chronological age is calculated by calendar years, months and days. Corrected age is shown only as a separate developmental reference when prematurity is recorded.
Context matters.
- Speech, language and developmental assessments use test-specific manuals and professional judgment; this calculator does not assign a developmental level or diagnosis.
- AAP guidance describes corrected age as a developmental reference during the first two years; a pediatrician may individualize how long it remains useful.
- If a child loses skills, is not progressing or a caregiver has concerns, request developmental screening or early-intervention guidance rather than waiting for a calendar boundary.

What to know before using the result.
What is the difference between chronological and corrected age?
Chronological age runs from the birth date. Corrected age subtracts the number of weeks a baby was born before 40 weeks and is a separate developmental reference for children born prematurely.
How long is corrected age normally considered?
The American Academy of Pediatrics describes corrected age as useful when tracking development during the first two years. CalcSpan stops presenting it as the primary reference after that point.
Can corrected age diagnose a speech or developmental delay?
No. It is context for milestone discussion, not a diagnosis, eligibility decision or substitute for an evaluation by the child's pediatric or therapy team.
